Annette Maloney
Hi I’m Annette Maloney. Don’t tell anyone but I think I have the best job at TrueLocal. Dining at the best restaurants, drinking at the hottest bars, attending launches for everything from Spring Carnival, Fashion Week, Australian Open, Grand Prix to the opening of an envelope, some might say, I’m there. I get to mix it with all of the celebs and wannabe’s around town as well as the people who really make Melbourne tick and in doing so I have heaps of news and goss for my weekly newsletter and our annual Ultimate Melbourne guide
Alongside all of that, I manage one of the most vibrant communities of passionate, articulate, ‘in the know people’ involved with TrueLocal – our Local Star reviewers. Exclusive events, shopping vouchers, iPads, movie tickets, chef’s table dining experiences – you name it – I reward the best with fab prizes that keeps their creative juices flowing. How did I get this job you might ask? Well my background is in food and wine publishing. For many years I was the editor of ‘Dine Out Melbourne’ an annual guide to the best places to eat and drink in and around Melbourne. When TrueLocal were looking for someone to make sure we were on the pulse for openings, closings and compelling content for their restaurant, bars, hotels and cafe listings -you could say I was perfect for the gig. That was well over two years ago now and since then I have gone from content management to online community management – I’m now eyeing off the CEO role in my quest for world domination – watch this space!
