Awarding local knowledge with badges
Tim Colman
If you’ve logged in to your TrueLocal account to review recently you may have noticed you were awarded a badge or two. They’ll be highlighted on your profile and basically indicate your love of food, bars, pets etc.
Earning a badge is relatively easy – all you need to do is review. Once you’ve submitted the right amount of reviews in a specific category group you’ll automatically have the badge displayed on your avatar and profile. Hopefully, by highlighting your expertise in a certain area, fellow TrueLocal users will study your reviews closely. You’ll be a trusted source for local business info.
Badges are on offer in a broad range of areas. A Foodie badge means you eat out a lot, while a Hot Bod means you work out a lot. House Proud covers everything to do with home renovations, and a Barfly badge probably indicates you’re out most evenings. The Pet Lover badge is self explanatory and if you can’t live without caffeine you’re probably part of the Café Crowd.
